This fascinating article on The Pudding, Rappers, sorted by the size of their vocabulary, was published in 2014 and updated in 2019. It ranks 150 #Hip-Hop artists by the number of unique words in their first 35,000 lyrics. "Aesop Rock," which I thought was a typo, is at the top. I thought it was A$ap Rocky, but I thought about some of his lyrics, and it didn’t make sense to have him at the top and ahead of RZA or Ghostface Killah. So that’s how I learned about a rapper called Aesop Rock.
